چکیده
This article presents the exact closed-form solution for a new planar lens, hereinafter referred to as reflecting Luneburg lens (RLL). The proposed structure consists of two stacked parallel-plate waveguides circular shape. rays generated by point source located at periphery bottom waveguide propagate along curvilinear paths, whose trajectories result from variable refractive index profile with azimuthal symmetry. Then, these encounter boundary and emerge all parallel in upper uniform waveguide. behavior this resembles that flat fundamental difference it works reflection. is found solving nonlinear integral equation ray congruence through truncated Abel transform method. concept numerically verified different implementations effective profile, including metasurface-based implementation. triggers possibilities normal does not offer, applicable large variety microwave, terahertz, optical devices.

Plasmonic Luneburg and Eaton lenses.
Plasmonics takes advantage of the properties of surface plasmon polaritons, which are localized or propagating quasiparticles in which photons are coupled to the quasi-free electrons in metals. In particular, plasmonic devices can confine light in regions with dimensions that are smaller than the wavelength of the photons in free space, and this makes it possible to match the different length s...
متن کاملLuneburg lens waveguide networks
We investigate certain configurations of Luneburg lenses that form light propagating and guiding networks. We study single Luneburg lens dynamics and apply the single lens ray tracing solution to various arrangements of multiple lenses. The wave propagating features of the Luneburg lens networks are also verified through direct numerical solutions of Maxwell’s equations. We find that Luneburg l...

Transformation optics gives rise to numerous unusual optical devices, such as novel metamaterial lenses and invisibility cloaks. Very recently, Mattheakis et al. (Luneburg lens waveguide networks. J. Opt. 2012, 14, 114006) have suggested theoretical design of an optical waveguide, based on a network of Luneburg lenses, which may be useful in sensing and nonlinear optics applications. Here, we r...
متن کاملLuneburg lens in silicon photonics.
The Luneburg lens is an aberration-free lens that focuses light from all directions equally well. We fabricated and tested a Luneburg lens in silicon photonics. Such fully-integrated lenses may become the building blocks of compact Fourier optics on chips. Furthermore, our fabrication technique is sufficiently versatile for making perfect imaging devices on silicon platforms.
متن کاملThree-dimensional ray tracing in spherical and elliptical generalized Luneburg lenses for application in the human eye lens.
Ray tracing in spherical Luneburg lenses has always been represented in 2D. All propagation planes in a 3D spherical Luneburg lens generate the same ray tracing, due to its radial symmetry. A geometry without radial symmetry generates a different ray tracing. For this reason, a new ray tracing method in 3D through spherical and elliptical Luneburg lenses using 2D methods is proposed. The physic...
